Words of the Day:
Imouto (いもうと) also said Imouto-san. - it means little sister.
Sounds like: ee-mo-toe

Onee-san (おねえさん) - it means elder sister. But it is also used outside of its family context to refer to a young lady, such as a waitress.
Sounds like: oh-nay-sahn

Word of the day:

Oniisan (おにいさん) or sometimes just Niisan - it means elder brother. It can also be used in a general sense for a young man.

It sounds like: oh-nee-sahn.

Yes. I am an Onii-san.
Although I refer to my self as an Ossan or Oji-san a lot because it fits my personality better. Very Happy

Words of the Day:
Oji-san (おじさん) - it means Uncle, but is also used as a general term for a middle age man.
It sounds like: ohje-sahn.

Ossan (おっさん) - it is a less polite way to say middle age man.
It sounds like: ohss-sahn.

Ojiisan (おじいさん) - it means grandfather, but can also be used for any old man.
It sounds like: oh-jee-sahn.

Obaasan (おばあさん) - it means grandmother, but can also be used for any old woman.
It sounds like: oh-baa-sahn.

It is hard to describe the differences of pronunciation between Oji-san and Ojiisan with just text, but the 'ee' sound in Oji-san is shorter, and in Ojiisan it is longer.

*kazu bows* Arigatou gozaimasu and Dou itashimashite.

Well I think I missed a day or two but I try to at least post a new word a day. Very Happy
I am posting words that come to my mind throughout the day, so it's a bit random.
